About Me
My name is Adam Gow. I am an outdoorsman and adventure content creator and I document my adventures on my YouTube Channel TheSingleTrackWoodsman. Many of you know what I do. But few of you know the story of my past and how I got to where I am now. So if you are willing to take a minute, this is my story...
I grew up spending time in the great outdoors, and that came down to the family and the place that I grew up in. I live in a mostly rural part of the North-East of Scotland, which leads to countless opportunities to spend time outdoors. We were always out and about in the local woods, hills or coastlines, which offer stunning views and wonderful experiences. Not to mention that since before I was even born, my family have visited the same amazing spot on the North-West Coast of the country, almost every single year, and we continue to do so. What this has lead to is the way that I am as a person now: there is nothing in this world that I enjoy more than spending time in the great outdoors and I hope to fulfil my dreams of doing as a career.
Beyond all the time we spent, as a family, in the great outdoors, at the age of seven I joined the Scout Movement as a Beaver Scout (the at the time, youngest section of the movement). And I can tell you now, that It was the best decision that I have ever made and one that I never look back on. I have now been within the Scout Movement for just about 10 years, and within that some of the best things I have ever done.
I have now spent well over 100 nights camping, taken part in both national and international events and done many activities, that I otherwise would never have done. In my time within the Scout Movement, I have been a member of 4, of the now 5, sections: Beavers (1 year), Cubs (2 years), Scouts (4 years) and now Explorer Scouts (approx. 2 years & counting). I have gained many awards such as the Chief Scout Awards; at Bronze, Silver and Gold level, and I take an active roll within the Young Leader Award Scheme. The Young Leader Award Scheme is a scheme where Explorer Scouts volunteer time within other Section within their group or another group within their district. At current I volunteer at 3 different Scout Troops across my District (Moray) with now over 350 hours of volunteering.

While out filming a video I stumbled upon an immensely size wind blown tree - the root system was well over 10ft tall.
